On the road

Some of the passes through the Lake District are a tough challenge with even today's 4x4s. But in the 1920s and 30s it must have been even more of a challenge. Lilian captured this brave motorist (and there's one parked up a little further ahead) in this scenic shot that captures the age perfectly.
